Turning Windows into Doors
How to make Windows look less like Windows? Stardock has the answer. You can completely get rid of the desktop icons, taskbar, using the start menu and everything else Windows stands for. Don't panic - all the things that disappear are still easily accessible should you need them. The Object Dock lets you have the really cool zoomy
toolbar, with whatever you want, wherever you want, any size you want. It even includes a weather object and a clock. The keyboard launchpad lets you set keys however you want (i.e. I set Ctrl+F to open up Firefox, Ctl+P opens the folder where I store my pictures). Wincustomize has desktops, themes, icon files and cursors galore. And there are utilities for making your own objects or customizing the desktop you download. Then of course there’s fish to float around your screen, moving aquarium plants and if you don’t have enough to do you can get a desktop pet to take care of. Some of it you pay for, some of it’s free but overall – Stardock’s the best thing to hit the PC since Windows!
