We're Not Old

When Derek Jeter burst on the scene in 1996 I realized I was starting to be older than the ball players. Back when I was just kneehigh to a grasshopper, the neighbor girl and I were playing baseball in the backyard one day. I was Ron Guidry and she was Willie Randolph; nevermind that Guidry would not have pitched to Randolph. Her dad walked by and said "Guidry was a Southpaw" so clearly I couldn't be Ron Guidry because I pitched right handed. Back in 1996 I realized I couldn't be Derek Jeter - I was too old.
