What's the World Coming To?
Last Night 7:25pm the cell phone shouts out the distinctive ring that means my brother is calling.
Me: Hello
Brother: spits out unintelligible gibberish
Me: I can't understand a word you're saying
Brother (who is a medical student with no time to watch TV): You have to watch the Bachelor, he's a doctor at the hospital I'm at and they show scenes of the hospital in the first few minutes.
Last night 7:45 the regular phone rings. It's my mom. Fifteen minutes of rather normal conversation then:
Mom: I called to tell you, you have to watch the Bachelor it's a doctor from where your brother is.
Me: Yes I know
Mom: I don't understand the Bachelor. Does he really meet 25 women? How does he choose? How does he tell the ones that he doesn't want they have to go home? That doesn't sound very nice.
Me: Well, yes he meets 25 women and the ones he wants to move onto the next round get a rose and the others don't.
What's the point of this story? My evening last night consisted of two family members calling to tell me to watch a mean popularity contest played out on National TV. So I did.

I love that show, but I haven't watched any TV in any serious capacity (other than Survivor) in what seems like a year. I guess it helps when you don't get good reception!
