Evening Class

This week I started a new evening class - Ceramics, Beginning. The key word here being beginning as I haven't made anything from clay in years. Like a lot of adult art classes there's little actual teaching, it's mostly here's the stuff go to it. At the end of the night I had three rather respectable looking pinch pots and one sad looking coil pot. My first impression is I don't have the patience to be much of a potter, though I enjoyed making little pinch pots and I think the glazing will be fun. And after 10 weeks I'll have whole set of not very good loooking fragile pieces to adorn my shelves. Like the instructor said the good thing about being a potter in the Bay Area is that the pieces don't last very long!
