Not That Special
Apparently the Grammy Awards were given out last night. I don't pay much attention to music and don't know much about it. But I'm trying to learn. I figured I'd like to hear the songs from the Grammy's to see what all the fuss is about. So imagine how I happy I was to see in my Inbox and e-mail from iTunes touting their 2007 Grammy Award Winners Special. That's something I'd buy, a special sale or compilations of the Grammy nominees. So I check out the iTunes store and clicked on the pretty 2007 Grammy Awards picture. Only to find there's nothing special about it. Sure the page loads with a black background highlighting the winners but I don't need iTunes for that. I need iTunes to give me lists, maybe an easily downloadable grouping of all the best song nominees. Or an enticement buy two of the best albums of the year nominees and get two free songs so you can sample the others. But no, to download a song you still have to search through the page the album is on to find it and of course no sale. The person trying to learn about music apparently isn't iTunes target market, but couldn't they at least make a small effort to make things easier on us. I won't be buying any Grammy Award songs from iTunes. I'll just listen to them for free on Yahoo Music Radio's Grammy Nominee station.
