The Rock

If you're not watching 30Rock, well you really should. But you have to watch it carefully and it's nice to be able to rewind because the dialog is fast, funny and pure genius. The brilliance of it all is that once you realize just how funny something is they're on to something, it's not dragged out, the joke doesn't get old, it hits you, you laugh out loud and there's not even enough time to recover and keep up with the conversation. It's kind of an adrenaline rush and allows them to get away with stuff that should absolutely not be allowed on TV for example from last week's episode.

Tina Fey: a businesswoman
Alec Baldwin: I don't think that's a word .... (continues with discussion)

So inappropriate yet not dwelling on a statement makes the exchange that much more effective. The audience realizes it's such a ridiculous thought it's not even worth discussing. And then one stops to think how do they get away with this stuff? I for one am glad they do!!
