The
New York Times today had an article about the Eye-Fi Explore SD Card. Just like any SD card it goes into your camera and stores 2-4GB worth of pictures. Unlike a regular SD card it can
geo-tag your photos and upload them via a wireless network to photo sharing sites such as
Flickr or your home computer. That's one of the best melding of technologies I've seen. I hate all the wires connecting everything, life really doesn't have to be this way. Imagine being on vacation, taking a picture and having it upload to Flickr before you even get home. I haven't really wanted a cell phone with a camera because the cameras aren't any good. With the Eye-Fi I can use my own awesome camera. Of course you have to be near a Wi-Fi network to upload, and the geo-tagging isn't perfect. Still I think it's pretty cool, and the
Eye-Fi is on sale now for $109, just in time for my birthday! Does this mean a new version is coming out soon?
