Tonight is the Night

The anticipation is palpable. The office was a twitter and a jitter with gossip this morning. Who will we like or hate, who’s the hottest guy, the strongest girl? Who’s really annoying, who’ll take charge, who’s a wimp?  How hot is Probst? Tonight is of course the Survivor season premiere.

I wasn’t always addicted. In fact five years ago I turned my nose up at the Survivor groupies. Then when I was in the depths of despair and did nothing while home but cry and watch TV I accidentally watched an episode. It was the season premier of Survivor Marquesas. And it was good. Then wonder of wonders the second episode was on the next night. I haven’t missed an episode since.   For a long time I didn’t admit to anyone I watched. Now I know half the fun is to rehash the episode the next day with other fanatics. And they are all addicts; there aren’t casual Survivor watchers. People don’t just catch an episode now and then, you watch and watch intently.  I even got my brother hooked while he was living with me; he hasn’t followed a TV show in a good ten years. I won’t waste the space here trying to say what makes Survivor great. It just is and if you want to know why, just watch and episode or two or fifty!
