High Above It All (Day 3 of a 5 part series)
Unfortunately the night did not prove restful for the weary wanderers as the air and the ground were bitter cold and the sleeping bags they had packed in were not sufficient. The brave souls rose at first light
and as the sun rose they soon grew warm in the still morning air. The morning was spent exploring the area, tinkering about camp and soaking in the sun and mountain air. After a lunch of Ultralight Joe’s Moosegoo the wanderers set out for an afternoon exploration. A ridge was climbed from which one could see all the way to the East Coast (or at least across the Owens Valley to the Inyo Mountains). The pair stood proudly above the lakes and camp and spent a time taking it all in.
On the way back to the campsite the adventurers discovered a sunnier, flatter spot near a small puddle of a lake which they decided would be a superior place to set up shelter. The camp was moved, baths were taken, and the contented pair settled in for another frigid night.
