Saturday
In an attempt to use more trees the Wall Street Journal last weekend introduced their Saturday edition. The last thing I need is more paper in my house. They didn't even ask if I wanted six days of paper it just started showing up. On Saturday I'm still reading the Friday paper, and Sunday if I want a paper I'll go buy it. The idea behind the whole Saturday thing is that the Monday paper is irrelevant. But publishing on Saturday doesn't make the Monday paper any more relevant. It just means more paper. Maybe there are people who need the stock prices on Saturday when they should be home relaxing and not worrying about the stock market. But really there should be options. In this world where I can order sneakers in custom colors, grande double shot lo fat mochas with foam instead of whip, create your own polo shirts, why can't I order a paper Tuesday-Friday. Is it really that difficult?
