One Fall Day

Today was a gorgeous fall day. The kind of day that actually feels like fall - mid 60's, sunny but not searing bright sun, clear crisp air, a few wisps of cloud, clean after a rain. The kind of day one wants to leave work early so I closed up shop at 2:00 and let everyone enjoy the afternoon. I went home and took a walk savoring the autumness of the day. There was even a tree or two turning red, and a few more turning a gold of sorts. I really don't miss the change of seasons much, and when I did live in a more seasonal clime I vastly preferred spring to fall. But I do appreciate a wonderful fall day, and it makes me yearn just a little bit for fall in the deciduous forest. In the hecticness of life it's refreshing to be able to stop and smell the fall.
