A Bee in my Bonnet
Starbucks has been promoting Akeelah and the Bee for the past several weeks. Words are placed randomly around the store and prominently on green cup sleeves. I don't mind all the movie promotion what's been bothering me is the slogan "changing the world one word at a time". But there's no definitions. How is anyone changing the world without providing the meaning of obscure words that are supposed to change the world? Why didn't they supply a dictionary for cutomers to peruse while waiting for a drink order? Then today it occurred to me - the movie's about a spelling bee it has absolutely nothing to do with knowing what words mean.
