Leave the car at home

Wednesday August 29 is a Bay Area Spare the Air Day with ozone levels predicted to be high, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is urging people to not use their cars. BART, buses, CalTrain, even ferries - it's all free until 1:00pm. I know what I would do if I had the morning off. This is the first spare the air day of 2007. Last year there were 11 for the season, June-October. 2005 had one spare the air day, there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to it. For those who like to make charts and graphs ten years of data are available on the BAAQMD website. Let me know what you come up with!

Update: Thursday is also a spare the air day. But I'm bringing ice cream to work which is quite a dilemma. Do I walk in the heat to the office while the ice cream melts in my bag or do I go against every moral fiber of my being and drive?
