Still Swimming
For the past few weeks, anyone who looked around while at my house would point out that apparently the fish was dead. Because apparently I'm the sort of pet owner who would not notice her beloved pet had passed away. No I say, he's only nearly dead if he was dead the fin on his back would not stand up. To be fair, he does like dead most of the time laying on the bottom of the fishbowl. If I go over to the bowl and put my finger in front of his face the fish generally musters enough energy to swim to the top of the bowl for a few seconds in hopes of some food. Whenever he does manage to lift himself off the gravel on the bottom I give him a few bits of food so as not to waste his energy. He's a fairly old fish 3 years maybe 4. And his days are numbered sometimes I wonder if he'd rather just die but I haven't thought of any humane way to kill him off. It's not much of an existence, laying on the bottom of a bowl all day. Day after day, week after week he just keeps living. Someday you may read in this blog of his demise but today is not that day.
