They Said There Would Be Storms
They said there would be storms. It was on the internet, on the radio they were all saying it. From my office window I saw the rainclouds marching across the bay, pushing the sunshine out of the way. Hope I get home before the rain hits. I walked outside to the gym, sky is darkening. I left the gym to walk home, damp sidewalk, smells like rain, smells like storms. All the TV stations saying there are storms, thunder, lighting, power outages, first rain in months. A woman in Modesto struck by lightning, fires in Santa Cruz, lighting punches a hole in a house in Danville. But not here, not in my neighborhood. Here there are no storms outside.
