Lost

It's hard to imagine just what the Lost writers/producers are thinking. They had a good thing going - interesting characters, a mysterious island where anything could happen, a large cast so characters could be killed off or introduced at whim, and a format of mixing backstory with current plot that worked well. But this season they haven't given us anything new. The flashbacks for the most part have rehashed aspects of the characters we already knew instead of infusing them with new depth. And what about the new characters suddenly two new people show up and seem to be part of the club but we don't know anything about them. How about giving us more of Desmond - one episode he's foreseeing events the next he's completely forgotten about. Now Lost is on break until February. This allows the network to show the series straight through without any repeats. But the audience wasn't given anything to chew on for the next few months, there wasn't even much of a cliffhanger. I'm so tired of Jack, Kate and Sawyer. why isolate three characters who are at their best when they're interacting with other people? Sawyer just isn't Sawyer unless he's conning someone. And Kate's a bad ass criminal, put her in a cage and suddenly she's a wimp?

It's still a good show, only it used to be a great show. I'm hoping JJ Abrams gives up the Alias plant a bomb in someone's head type storyline for more character development and mystery in the second half of the season and the show once again finds it way.
