Must be the Communists

The fireworks display at Jack London Square has been canceled. That's right canceled. It's absolutely unAmerican. I understand the concern, too much construction no room for people, no where to park. But really there must have been a better solution. The 4th of July fireworks is one of the best things this neighborhood has to offer. Thousands of people come out crowding the square, you get not only the booming show just overhead but even from the ground you can see fireworks from all over the Bay area, not to mention the unofficial displays from the surrounding streets. It's fireworks all around. And at the end it's just as entertaining to watch thousands of people trying to get back to their cars and onto the freeway!
