Yesterday my mom called for a Sunday afternoon chat:
Me: Hello
Mom: Hi honey. Are you getting that new iPod?
Me: iPhone mom it's an iPhone. No I'm not getting one and how do you know what an iPhone is anyway?
Mom: Your dad and I went to the Apple store this afternoon and tried out the iPhone. It has really big, bright buttons and you can find the Starbucks in San Francisco.
It was at this moment I realized I am so far removed from the cell phone game I'm not even a spectator. When I hear about Apple all I can think is how frustrated I am at how difficult I find the iPod is to use and more recently annoyed that the battery is so hard to replace. Though I do believe the iPhone will revolutionize cell phones in an amazingly positive way. I'll wait until the revolution is over and sign up for the aftermath. And honestly something that my parents are excited about that's gotta be pretty good technology but until it's cheap and foolproof I'll stick with Samsung. Oh and do you think maybe Starbucks had something to do with being the place of choice on the demo phones? I really don't mind if Starbucks is taking over the universe but Apple I'm not so sure about.
