A dollar saved
In the wake of its first ever subscription decline Netflix reduced the price of it's most popular plans by $1. It doesn't sound like much but it's $12 more a year I can spend on other indulgences. I love Netflix but it would probably be one of the first things to go if I was trying to save money. Selling more at lower prices isn't necessarily the best business model but if it does increase their subscription base it's a good move. On another note Netflix on Watch It Now feature which lets a subscriber watch some movies and TV shows instantly over the internet seems to be fairly successful so far. I haven't tried it yet but Watch It Now seems like a great way to see any available TV episodes and I hope Netflix offers more in the future. The best part about watching movies online is the subscriber is only charged for the time actually viewed. So if you want to see just one five minute scene of a movie or decide you hate it after 10 minutes you're only charged that portion against your monthly time allotment which varies according to your subscription level. I hope Netflix continues to do well as they came up with a fantastic service and deliver it exceptionally well. Not something every company can do at any price.
