One less for the record books
Rain isn't the term I would use for .02 inches of precipitation. However since those who measure such things consider anything above .01 inches measurable July 18th has been officially removed from the record books as a day when it has not rained in San Francisco since they started keeping the records. the only two days left with such distinction are July 7th and July 14th. Luckily those days are both past and we do not have to fret about disturbing the record books any more this year. And just in case you though nobody would notice .02 inches of "rain" it was enough to electrify the dust coating insulators on the power lines and knock out power to 17,000 customers. July 18th - a day that will go down in history.
