$3.05
As I was walking over to Starbucks today with three dollars in my pocket my thoughts wandered back to three years ago when a grande cappucino cost two dollars and eighty five cents. The extra fifteen cents went into a little box on my desk in case I ever needed a dime or a nickel. I didn't notice much when the price went up to three dollars, after all the nickels and dimes weren't exactly earning a lot of interest. That was two years ago and it's been a nice even three dollars ever since. So imagine my surprise when the nice lady behind the Starbucks counter said that'll be three dollars and five cents. Well I had to tell her I had three dollars but I didn't have five cents. She graciously let me have the grande cappucino in exchange for my three dollars and explained that the prices had just been raised after not being increased for two years. Really it's not having to pay more for my coffee that bothers me, it's the having to remember to bring an extra nickel every day. Luckily I have a little box of nickels and dimes sitting on my desk. I just have to remember to bring them to Starbucks.
