A couple of things to think about

Every year TED brings together a plethora of people to speak on a Technology, Entertainment, Design and just about anything else they might think is interesting. Now through partnership with the Ultimate Driving Machine company and New York Public Radio you can download the TED talks in audio or video. Speakers include professors, scientists, doctors, industrial and web designers, authots and many others. The one thing they all seem to have in common is a passion for their work and have used their energy to create something postive. It's refreshing and entertaining to spend some time listening to passionate people talk about their struggles, beliefs, accoomlishements and hopes for the future.

Over the weekend I watched The Corporation which is often billed as "Documentary that looks at the concept of the corporation throughout recent history up to its present-day dominance". However it's real focus is to make the case for the corporation as psycopath. The main theses is that the modern American public corporation is a person who is legally obligated to always act in its own self interests. There is some truth in this as the corporation is responsible to always put the interests of its shareholders first, however sometimes its hard to know what that means. It's an interesting film and will definitely make you think twice before buying another $50 shirt made by someone earning 30 cents an hour.
