Lord of the Realm

Geeks everywhere tonight are mourning the passing of Gary Gygax. Where would we be today without Dungeons and Dragons, there would perhaps be no painted miniatures, no Zelda, no Diablo, no Magic cards, no World of Warcraft so many hours of my life would have been spent differently. I still remember exactly where I was and how hard I cried when my first D&D character died. It was a fire-lizard technically a non player character, but my older brother and his friends appeased my incessant whining by letting me play the lizard. Maybe the time was ripe and someone else would have created the D&D universe if not for Gygax, but Gary Gygax did it and the world of millions of children were changed forever.
